4 players Manchester United must buy!

So, when the new season started and the opening match was between Manchester United and Swansea, I had my bagful of hopes ready with me already.
It was the first time when Louis Van Gaal would have taken charge of Manchester United in the Premier League, and when the team was lining up in the tunnel, I had goosebumps already. But what followed in the next 90 minutes made me the saddest person alive till the next day. New season, new manager but the same old, sad result. The new season took off from where United left it last season. With or without David Moyes, this team simply doesn’t have the hunger, the energy that the great Sir Alex Ferguson managed to instill on Manchester United and which transformed the club into the global brand which it is today. With years of success behind us, and the habit of seeing United in flying colours, the recent happenings have created an irreparable disappointment and sadness inside me. Here are a few players, Manchester United should really consider signing before the transfer window shuts off on the 31st of August.

Matt Hummels: United really need a world-class central defender. With the exit of Vidic, Ferdinand and Evra, the defensive area is looking dangerously vulnerable and if United is really vying for at least a top-4 finish, we should at least get Hummels on board. This German central defender is one of the best in his position, and would be a great addition to the squad. If Van Gaal is really planning to make the 3 player defensive formation, then Hummels is a must.

Angel Di Maria: Ever since Ronaldo left United, I have never seen a full-fledged, beautifully displayed attacking prowess by United. Last season was even worse, but at least Adnan Januzaj played wonderful football. Young, Nani and Valencia are good players, but United need a world-class winger. And none other than Di Maria, who is not happy at Madrid currently, can fill up the void for a winger. He can really provide the pace and agility, and with his footballing skills, I would love to have him at Old Trafford.

Arturo Vidal: No wonder, ever since the glorious days of Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Michael Carrick and Darren Fletcher came to an end, the mid-field area has become too weak. The creativity in the mid-field has been missing over the years, and too many long passes into the box has made situation worse. Vidal, with his playful creativity can be one of the best buys if United do manage to rope him in from Juventus.

Ilkay Gundogan: Although this German mid-fielder missed the World Cup, he is that player whose inclusion in a team can kick out the mid-field problems. Even though I would like to have Vidal in the team, but if not Vidal, then at least Gundogan should be brought in. Though Herrera is a good buy for United, I don’t reckon Darren Fletcher can form that classic mid-field partnership with him. So, it is high time United buy a player like Gundogan. He has strength, and has the skills of a good mid-field player.

There are many other players who are available in the transfer market and might be good additions to United, like Lavezzi (contract negotiations seem to have broken down between the player and PSG, so he might want a move away), Douglas Costa (This Brazilian is valued at £40 million too much by his club, Shakhtar Donetsk and Arsenal are interested in him too) or even Marco Reus(This isn’t a likely deal as he is happily settled at Dortmund and is not keen to move away, even to Bayern Munich). But the first three players are very likely purchases for United this season and should be worked out or else the season would be over yet again for the 21 times English Champions.
